"THERE DO EXIST ENQUIRING MINDS, which long for the truth of the heart, seek it, strive to solve the problems set by life, try to penetrate to the essence of things and phenomena and to penetrate into themselves. If a man reasons and thinks soundly, no matter which path he follows in solving these problems, he must inevitably arrive back at himself, and begin with the solution of the problem of what he is himself and what his place is in the world around him. For without this knowledge, he will have no focal point in his search. Socrates’ words, “Know thyself” remain for all those who seek true knowledge and being."

In This Vast Silence

In this vast Silence
You attack your own illusion,
A scuffle breaks out.
Your Lies emit cacophonous vibrations,
Echoing indelible images of your false i's.

No one is fooled,
Not even yourself.

On Forgiveness Of Snakes

from the: Lalo The Snake Catcher Stories
"Apprentices"
Chapter III: In Service :Note  from Lalo to apprentice snake catchers on Forgiveness of Snakes
by LL ~ 2008

"Forgiveness of a Snake is essential in this business if you are going to be a master snake catcher. However, do not mistake the idea of forgiveness for a magic wand that will keep you safe. Forgiveness is an act of compassion, not a prophylactic, when it comes to most snakes.

When you forgive a snake for having bitten and made you ill
Do not then fall asleep in it's presence.
You will be bitten again
Unless you stay awake.

Do not be lulled by the flute and the smoke
and begin to rock back and forth to the tune.
Stand in your shoes,
ready to catch it and put it back in it's bag
with Love."

After All Was Said and Done

"After all," Lalo said shaking her head in a determined fashion, "what can you do with such a monster as that? He is too destructive, even here. He revels in doing wrong and destroying others lives. It makes him happy to see them suffer. Other people's suffering is like air to him."

"Yes." Owl agreed"there is nothing left but to end his days here. No one can help that one, not even God. He's had his chances; you gave him too many, and look at how he has repaid you. He killed and ate your best friend, created chaos in your household, stole your money and nearly sucked your energy dry. I would have killed him a long time ago if I were in charge of him. You were too generous with him my dear."

King Snake lounged in his house, which was really his prison as he listened to them. In his overconfidence he thought he still had a chance to go on as he always had. "Hah!. She always tries "one more time" with me no matter how bad I've been. She never gives up on a soul no matter how awful they are. She won't let me go." He hissed to himself with a smug smile on his lips. He slithered onto his big rock and curled up into a coil. Closing his closed his eyes to nap in the warm afternoon sunlight streaming through the glass roof of his domain, feeling safe and secure in these thoughts.

"I'm afraid that is the case this time Owl, he has played his last mean trick, there is not one iota of anything real in him, there never was. You've been right all along. It was all a game to him, he is not worth wasting any more time and energy on. His schemes have caused too much destruction. There's nothing left to do, but to put an end to it."

Teachers and Students (Part V)

“It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes... we make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions - especially selfish ones.”

~ Alexander Solzhenitsyn

"How do I live from my soul?" the snake asks.

Lalo sighs; it is almost time.
"Turn Disrespect into Respect." Lalo replies as she cleans the Sacred Blade entrusted to her by her first friends in the woods. She sets her face, there is grim work ahead."

  from Lalo the Snake Catcher: King Snake,the Last Chapter

For some, true Being is unattainable, they cannot, will not give up illusion. As long as you hold to your selfishness, your insincerity and inner bias impede and eventually stop all inner work. You end up wandering in circles, descending. Even the "tricks" will be forgotten.

Lalo to King Snake:

"I am not fooled by your lies;

Neither the ones you tell me

Nor the ones you tell yourself.

I See you quite well from Here.

Your lies soil the atmosphere."

   from Lalo the Snake Catcher: King Snake,the Last Chapter

Without honesty and sincerity, you cannot develop true Being. You cannot live in "theory", nothing real develops in there - in that devious head brain. Eventually anything you've managed to earn will drift away and become part of the illusion your cowardice prefers. Real possibility is eaten by the dream. Veils do fall back into unnatural place. It is Lawful. Your chance is running out. It is true that "you cannot sit between two stools". Your illusion cannot be in reality, reality cannot Be in your illusion. The Work is not a hobby and this School is not a country club. Choose.

King Snake

I am currently working on a book of short stories and poems titled Lalo the Snake Catcher. The following is an excerpt from King Snake, a short story in the series.

Here, Lalo is talking with a giant snake who has terrorized the countryside and eaten unattended babies, livestock and the odd farmer's wife. Although she did capture and kill him, unfortunately for Lalo and for the snake, he came back to life again through the power of dark magic. Because he is unable to die until he genuinely repents, Lalo takes King Snake back to her home in the deep deep woods where she builds a special box to keep him in.

~~~~~~~
Tired of his moaning on and on about being caught and how it wasn't fair to be kept cooped up in his box, Lalo prepared King Snake his favorite breakfast hoping it would take his mind off his incessant self pity and conniving to escape.
The whining and the cajoling, which had been going on for months continued. "Let me out, please let me out Miss Lalo!" shouted King Snake mournfully. "I promise I won't do it again." He added indignantly, "It really isn't my fault I am a snake you know! I was born this way!" Then he wheedled, "Truly, I really am a good sort at heart. Honestly, I swear on my Mother. If you just set me free I will never eat another baby again and I will give you half my kingdom as a reward. Just set me free. Pleeeeeeeeeessssssssssss." He hissed pitifully in his darkness.
Lalo sighed and closed her eyes. "Here is a riddle for you King Snake," she cooed, "if you can solve it correctly I will set you free. Listen carefully now." she cleared her throat,
"You are the trap the ego sets to catch and keep in their places the inner and outer players it needs to fulfill the roles in the movies it runs in your head about everyone and everything it comes in contact with."
She paused for what seemed to King Snake like hours.
"WELLLLLLLLLL?" he finally exploded with venomous exasperation.
"What are you?"
Lalo asked gently as she fed several dozens of fat rats and small birds through the opening at the top of his box.
"WHAT?, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" he bellowed.
"That is the riddle. 'What are you?'" she repeated - even more quietly than before.
Five years went by without so much as a whisper from the box. The day after that King Snake called out, "Lalo, Miss Lalo, are you still there?" He was crying.
"Yes, my friend, of course I am here."
"I don't know the answer," he said with a sob, "please tell me the answer."
"Manipulation" is the answer my dear snake." was all she said.
